Manager Transmission Network

A Manager of Transmission Network & OFC is responsible for the end-to-end management of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) and Transmission(TXN) Network infrastructure planning, Deployment & Operations, encompassing high-level design, technical specifications, procurement, troubleshooting, and network optimization, while proactively researching and implementing emerging technologies, and ensuring precise terminations and documentation for the motorways network

They lead a team of technicians and engineers and are accountable for the performance, capacity, and reliability of the core network.

Duties & Responsibilities

1- In a overall leading role , spearhead the end-to-end management of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) and Transmission(TXN) Network infrastructure planning, Deployment & Operations, encompassing high-level design, technical specifications, procurement, troubleshooting, and network optimization, while proactively researching and implementing emerging technologies, and ensuring precise terminations and documentation for the motorways network.

2- Motorways and Safe cities network Modeling, infrastructure design and optimization over transmission and OFC.

3- To stay current with changes in the networking sector, conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards related to OFC & TXN Network. Study and discuss new technologies offered in OFC & TXN Network.

4- Validate and test end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network & Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

5- Create and maintain documentation related to OFC & TXN Network of all motorways.

6- Possess knowledge in all types of splicing activity, cable and safety test equipment and use of all types of cable construction equipment.

Qualifications

Education:

• Preferably bachelor's degree in electrical/Telecommunication/IT/Computer engineering.
• Should have preferably 8 Years & above of relevant telecommunication experience in Transmission Planning.
• Preferably 8 years of working experience in Optical Transmission with at least 1-4 years of experience in planning/Designing of Long Haul, Metro and Access optical fiber OSP and Active network.

Required Skills

Network Planning: Expertise in planning the design, configuration, and optimization of transmission networks to meet capacity, coverage, and quality requirements.

1. Transmission Technologies: In-depth knowledge of various transmission technologies such as SONET/SDH, DWDM, MPLS, Ethernet, and their application in network design and operation.

3. 
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Proficiency in monitoring network performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and implementing optimization strategies to improve network reliability and efficiency.
 
Skills in detecting, diagnosing, and resolving network faults or issues to minimize service disruptions and downtime.

4. 
Quality of Service (QoS) Management: Knowledge of QoS mechanisms and techniques to prioritize traffic, enforce service level agreements (SLAs), and maintain the quality of transmission services. .

Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of regulatory requirements and standards governing transmission networks, such as FCC regulations, ITU-T recommendations, and industry best practices.

Vendor Management: Ability to work with equipment vendors, service providers, and contractors to procure equipment.

Project Management: Experience in managing transmission projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.

Team Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills to lead a team of network engineers and technicians, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in network planning and operations.
