Job Summary:
The Sales and Application Specialist for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is responsible for driving revenue growth by promoting and supporting NGS solutions across academic, clinical, and research markets. This dual role combines consultative sales strategies with technical application support to ensure customer success, satisfaction, and long-term engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets for NGS products and solutions.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within hospitals, research institutions, universities, and diagnostic labs.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through regular visits, meetings, and presentations.
- Understand customer workflows and propose relevant NGS solutions.
- Work with internal marketing and business teams to execute territory plans and campaigns.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in alignment with company policies.
Application Support Responsibilities:
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for NGS platforms, reagents, and workflows.
- Conduct product demonstrations, hands-on training, and seminars/webinars for customers.
- Troubleshoot customer issues related to sample prep, library preparation, sequencing, and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with the global application support and product development teams to escalate and resolve technical concerns.
- Support customer onboarding and validation of NGS systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in NGS technologies (sales, applications, or lab operations).
- Strong understanding of NGS platforms and applications (WGS, WES, targeted panels, RNA-seq, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to travel up to 60–80%.
