Job Purpose

The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role involves supervising the finance team, developing financial strategies, and supporting business decision-making with financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flows, working capital, and liquidity to support business operations.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Track variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing timely explanations and corrective actions.
  • Accounts Operations
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts, ledgers, and other financial records.
  • Oversee tax filings, audits, and compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants and finance staff.
  • Allocate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and encourage professional development.
  • Business Support
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
