We are seeking an accomplished Data Platform Lead to accelerate the transformation journey for our client. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale data platforms—specifically with Oracle Data Platform on Oracle Cloud. The role involves leading the migration of data from legacy data warehouses to a modern, cloud-based Oracle data platform, ensuring seamless integration, robust data governance, advanced metadata management, and cutting-edge reporting capabilities. Prior experience in banking environments within the Middle East is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Oracle Data Platform on Oracle Cloud, including architecture design, integration, security, performance optimization, and scalability planning.
- Oversee the migration of large volumes of data from legacy data warehouses to the target Oracle Data Platform on the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.
- Develop and enforce data governance and metadata management frameworks, as well as quality and compliance standards in accordance with banking regulations in KSA and the wider Middle East region.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and partners to capture requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver robust reporting solutions.
- Design and implement state-of-the-art reporting services and analytics capabilities to empower business intelligence and strategic decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and upskill a cross-functional team of data engineers, architects, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging Oracle cloud technologies, automation, and best practices in data platform management.
- Prepare and present progress updates, roadmaps, and migration strategies to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all data platform implementations adhere to strict security standards, disaster recovery, business continuity policies, and comprehensive metadata management practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of hands-on experience in implementing enterprise-scale data platforms and reporting services.
- Proven experience in the migration from legacy data warehouse environments to modern cloud-based Oracle Data Platforms.
- Expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Data Platform architecture, data migration tools, and metadata management solutions.
- Strong background in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, metadata management, data quality, governance, and security best practices.
- Extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector, preferably within the Middle East and ideally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
- Demonstrated leadership in managing large, cross-functional teams and complex programs.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of KSA banking regulations and data compliance requirements is highly desirable.
- Certifications in Oracle Data Platform, Oracle Cloud, or related data management disciplines are an advantage.
