The Role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading the Project Management Office (PMO) for a large-scale card conversion program. The role requires strong coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of all project phases — from strategy and planning to execution and post-conversion optimization. The PM will oversee strategy development, marketing communication alignment, operational readiness, and continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a dedicated
    Project Management Office (PMO)
    to oversee the card conversion initiative.
  • Conduct pre-conversion discovery and portfolio analysis to assess operational impacts and define business/resource needs.
  • Develop a comprehensive
    Migration Masterplan
    in alignment with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, Marketing, Procurement, and Product to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Define the overall
    migration strategy
    , success metrics, and key milestones.
  • Prioritize customer segments and design appropriate conversion approaches.
  • Document detailed
    customer conversion journeys
    and operational workflows.
  • Develop a detailed
    marketing and communication plan
    for customer engagement.
  • Oversee creative development and customer messaging in collaboration with agencies.
  • Align communication strategies with customer segments and migration objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of the migration program and monitor daily progress.
  • Manage internal communications, training sessions, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
  • Track milestones, manage project risks/issues, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead
    Steering Committee
    meetings and provide regular project updates.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics in collaboration with the analytics team.
  • Execute
    activation and first-use campaigns
    to enhance customer engagement.
  • Drive
    portfolio optimization activities
    to achieve desired customer behaviors.
  • Maintain documentation including logs, minutes, and action reports for governance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
    .
  • PMP, PRINCE2
    , or equivalent
    Project Management Certification
    .
  • Minimum
    10 years of project management experience
    , preferably in
    banking, cards, or payment systems
    .
  • Proven experience managing
    large-scale card migrations
    or major product rollouts.
  • Strong exposure to
    Pakistan's banking ecosystem
    and regulatory environment.
  • Experience working with
    cross-functional teams
    and
    third-party vendors
    .
  • Familiarity with
    project management tools
    such as MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Excellent
    communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
    .
  • Technical fluency to collaborate with IT and digital delivery teams.
  • Understanding of
    regulatory and compliance
    aspects related to card programs.
  • Strong understanding of
    customer conversion
    and
    portfolio optimization
    .
  • Proficiency in
    English and Urdu
    (verbal and written).
