Description

The Internal Audit Specialist is responsible for conducting independent and objective audits of the organization's operations, financial processes, compliance, and internal controls. The role aims to assess the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, providing recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.

1. Audit Planning & Preparation

   - Assist in developing annual internal audit plans based on risk assessments.

   - Prepare audit programs, scope, and objectives for assigned audits.

   - Gather relevant background information and documentation for audit engagements.

2. Conducting Audits

   - Execute audit fieldwork in accordance with established standards and procedures.

   - Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.

   - Review records, operational processes, and compliance with policies and regulations.

   - Identify control deficiencies, operational inefficiencies, and potential risks.

3. Reporting & Documentation

   - Document audit findings, evidence, and conclusions clearly and accurately.

   - Prepare draft audit reports highlighting issues, risks, and recommendations.

4. Follow-up & Monitoring

   - Track the implementation of audit recommendations.

   - Conduct follow-up audits to verify corrective actions taken by management.

5. Risk Assessment & Continuous Improvement

   - Assist in updating risk assessments and audit universe.

   - Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and processes.

6. Compliance & Standards

   - Ensure audit activities comply with internal policies, professional standards (e.g., IIA standards), and regulatory requirements.

   - Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting internal audit.

7. Collaboration & Communication

   - Coordinate with various departments to facilitate audit activities.

   - Maintain effective communication with management and stakeholders.

   - Support the Internal Audit Lead in special projects or investigations as required.

Qualified Chartered Accountant with a Post Qualification Experience of 2 – 4 years. This experience can be either in an audit firm or in industry, with the experience of Internal Audit being preferable.

Familiarity with audit tools & data analysis software will be a big plus.
