Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Release Engineer with strong expertise in Salesforce release management and CI/CD pipelines. This role is critical in ensuring reliable, repeatable, and secure deployments across multiple environments.

The ideal candidate will not be writing code but will collaborate closely with developers, QA, administrators, and stakeholders to coordinate smooth releases, resolve deployment issues, and maintain environment readiness. As our ecosystem grows, the Release Engineer will also contribute to scaling DevOps practices and automation across applications and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for Salesforce and other supported platforms, including planning, deployment, validation, rollback, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, admins) to resolve deployment issues, support hotfixes, and enhance release reliability.
  • Enforce Git branching strategies and pull request workflows; perform Git CLI operations such as cherry-picking, rebasing, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gearset, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Oversee Salesforce sandbox creation and refresh, including scripts and test data seeding.
  • Monitor logs, metrics, and release health checks to detect risks and bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with security and access control requirements for production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in release management or DevOps, with 3+ years specific to Salesforce.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce metadata deployment strategies, environment management, and rollback planning.
  • Salesforce admin knowledge with understanding of Apex, Flows, LWC, and integrations.
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub workflows (branches, merges, conflict resolution).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Gearset, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for release tracking.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Type: Outsourced / Contract (individual engagement)
  • Location: Remote
  • Working Hours: This role requires alignment with US business hours. The regular shift is from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time, with occasional extended hours up to 3:00–4:00 AM PKT depending on release schedules or critical deployments.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal DevOps, Salesforce, and engineering teams
