Position Overview:

Ethizo is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to accurately translate medical records into ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for billing and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US coding guidelines, payer requirements, and medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

● Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes by reviewing medical charts, operative notes, and encounter documentation.

● Ensure coding compliance with official guidelines, payer policies, and regulations.

● Update codes based on clinical documentation improvement (CDI) feedback.

● Collaborate with physicians, billers, and auditors to resolve coding queries and claim denials.

● Stay current with coding rules, annual code updates, and industry best practices.

● Meet organizational productivity and accuracy goals.

Education and Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Pharm D, or a relevant medical field (required).

● 1-2 years' US medical coding experience (multi-specialty preferred).

● Proficient in E/M, SNF, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, surgical, and specialty coding.

● Strong understanding of HIPAA and data confidentiality.

● Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and time management skills.

● Certification preferred: CPC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent.

Key Competencies:

● Experience with EHR and coding software.

● Ability to work independently and in teams.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Tools & Systems Knowledge:

● Proficiency with medical coding software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and healthcare billing platforms is an asset.

● Familiarity with project tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, ) and productivity suites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
