Delmec are an international telecommunications service provider, established in 1975 and based in Carlow, Ireland that has a number of operations internationally within Europe, Africa and Asia.
The core divisions of the business are in the manufacture and supply of telecoms towers and masts, the installation and construction of telecommunication base stations, and the structural audit, inspection and design analysis of telecoms infrastructure, providing high quality services, internationally to mobile phone operators, tower portfolio managers and infrastructure developers in over 40 countries.

Role Summary
We are seeking an ambitious, driven, and analytically minded early-career professional to join our company as a Management Trainee, working directly with the Chief Operating Officer. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in executive-level operations, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration across a global engineering and telecommunications environment.
As part of a structured leadership development program, this role is designed to build a deep understanding of Delmec's operations and leadership culture, preparing high-potential talent for future management roles. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with the discipline to execute, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving ability, and a drive to deliver measurable impact from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the COO in the development and execution of short and long-term operational strategies.
- Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with preparing reports, presentations, and dashboards for executive review.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring deliverables are met within defined timelines.
- Lead or co-lead 1–2 functional projects per rotation.
- Analyse end to end supply chain performance, cost reductions, and identify improvement areas.
- Contribute to procurement, inventory optimisation and vendor management.
- Support process improvements, capability planning, and quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and services teams to reduce cycle times and defects.
- Assist with operational budgeting, OPEX management, and cost optimisation activities.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk management and governance standards.
- Partner with IT and Operations to support automation, data analytics, and tool implementation.
- Collaborate with HR on capability-building, performance, and leadership development, and change management.
- Prepare and present project updates and improvement plans to the COO and senior management team.
- Deliver a capstone project focused on operational improvement, with ROI, implementation roadmap and risk assessment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- MBA or master's degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience; internships, graduate projects or relevant.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple levels.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of multi-tasking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is an advantage.
- Availability to travel internationally for training, meetings or project assignments.
