About the Role
The Accounting and Admin is responsible for managing financial records, performing general accounting duties, and ensuring the company's financial transactions are accurate and up to date. This role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions and ensure all accounting entries are accurate.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and balance sheets.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Generate and analyze reports to track financial performance and identify trends.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Process invoices, verify account balances, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure alignment of internal records with bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.
- Prepare and submit tax returns (e.g., VAT, GST, corporate tax) and liaise with tax authorities when necessary.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and financial regulations.
- Assist in payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of payroll-related expenses.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for cost control, efficiency, and profitability improvements.
- Participate in financial decision-making processes.
- Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero).
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
