Job Title: Accounting Analyst

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather and arrange payment invoices; prepare payments via manual cheques or bank's online portal.
  • Verify supplier/vendor status on Tax Portal to apply appropriate withholding income and sales tax.
  • Manage the PO process, including three-way match, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Post AP/AR entries in JDE and perform manual adjustments where needed.
  • Handle petty cash and employee travel expense reports.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal vouchers (e.g., depreciation, accruals, insurance, brokerage, prepaid adjustments).
  • File Income & Sales Tax statements/returns.
  • Extract P&L, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance from JDE; generate FASTR reports for management decisions.
  • Maintain and report monthly staff loan/advance deductions and salary adjustments.
  • Assist in compliance with external audits, tax audits, and internal balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post custom duty and in-bonding charges for imported stock, comparing with clearing agent estimates.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years AP/AR and corporate accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payment and tax processes.
  • Intermediate Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with JDE or similar ERP finance systems.
  • Ability to handle multi-currency ledgers.

Preferred:

  • Experience in corporate finance reporting and audit compliance.
