As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing a lightweight data aggregation and reporting solution for our client. Your responsibilities will include building and optimizing ETL pipelines, integrating data from various sources, and ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. You will work closely with stakeholders to implement user-friendly reporting tools, enabling data-driven decision-making while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with industry best practices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Design and implement lightweight ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into a central data warehouse or data lake.
  • Set up and maintain a simple, scalable data infrastructure for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Implement and optimize reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Metabase) to allow easy data querying and visualization.
  • Ensure data integrity, validation, and cleaning to improve reporting accuracy.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand key metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Implement data security, access controls, and compliance best practices.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems
  • BI/reporting tools for business insights and dashboard creation.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient data solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on simple, scalable solutions for small data environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights.

Preferred Skills & Technologies:

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Data warehouse/lake tools.
  • Proficiency in BI & Reporting tools.
  • Cloud platforms (AWS) for data storage and processing.
  • Experience with AWS redshift
