We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a
Lead Machine Learning Engineer
. This role requires a strong background in computer science, data science, or electrical engineering, with proven expertise in machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. As a lead, you will play a key role in guiding technical direction, mentoring team members, and driving innovation in NLP and text-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms with a focus on text-related projects and complex NLP problems.
  • Lead initiatives using deep learning and machine learning frameworks such as
    PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn
    , ensuring scalable and production-ready implementations.
  • Drive adoption and innovation in
    NLP models
    including transformers, BERT, Roberta, NER models, and advanced frameworks such as
    LangChain, LLAMA Index
    , and other state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Apply strong
    Python programming
    skills to design solutions, improve existing pipelines, and optimize codebases for efficiency and scalability in text-based applications.
  • Guide the use of
    NLP libraries
    such as spaCy, NLTK, FastText, and HuggingFace Transformers to improve model performance.
  • Stay current with cutting-edge advancements in ML and NLP research, recommending and incorporating emerging techniques into organizational projects.
  • Collaborate closely with
    data scientists, software engineers, and product managers
    to align ML solutions with business needs.
  • Provide
    technical leadership
    through mentoring, code reviews, best practices, and architecture discussions for NLP projects.
  • Drive research, prototyping, and development in challenging areas such as transformer-based architectures, LLMs, and knowledge indexing.
  • Take ownership of
    innovation initiatives
    , particularly involving the LLAMA Index, LangChain, and related NLP projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
    in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5–6 years of proven experience
    in machine learning, with a strong focus on
    NLP and text-based projects
    .
  • Expertise in
    deep learning frameworks
    (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and production-level ML solution deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with
    transformer-based NLP models
    (BERT, Roberta, GPT-based models, NER, LangChain, LLAMA Index).
  • Strong proficiency in
    Python
    and solid understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Familiarity with
    NLP toolkits
    (spaCy, NLTK, FastText, HuggingFace Transformers) applied to real-world projects.
  • Proven ability to
    lead teams
    , set technical direction, and deliver impactful ML solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, innovation mindset, and ability to work independently on advanced NLP challenges.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering ML/NLP projects and driving innovation in applied research and development.

Additional Requirement (for candidates with Electrical Engineering degrees):

If the BS or MS degree is in Electrical Engineering, the candidate must have taken at least two of the following courses:
