We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Medical Billing Drafting Coordinator
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating all written communications related to medical billing including appeals, denials, and insurance correspondence. This role requires strong written communication skills, in-depth knowledge of medical billing processes, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare accurate and compliant written responses for insurance appeals, claim denials, and other billing-related correspondence.
- Coordinate with billing teams, coders, and account managers to gather supporting documentation for drafted communications.
- Review insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and denial letters to identify the root cause of issues and draft appropriate responses.
- Maintain organized records of all submitted appeals and follow up on their status.
- Ensure that all drafted communications adhere to payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve the quality and turnaround time of drafting tasks.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard templates and SOPs for drafting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in healthcare administration, medical billing, or related field).
- 2 – 3 years of proven experience in medical billing
, particularly in drafting/appeals/denial management. - Strong understanding of medical billing and insurance claim processes.
- Excellent written English communication and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with billing software (preferred).
