The Saif Group, one of the leading industrial and services conglomerates in Pakistan, is seeking an experienced & driven Manager IT who will be responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of systems, networks, databases, and security protocols across all group entities.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site critical role that requires a hands-on professional with expertise in system administration, network administration, database management, PBX, Exchange server operations, and IT security. The individual will manage day-to-day IT operations, ensure regulatory compliance, lead incident response, and support business continuity by maintaining high availability and security of IT services.

Key responsibilities will include:

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and storage solutions.
  • Installation, configuration, and monitoring of operating systems, applications, and hardware.
  • Ensure data backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems are in place.

Network Administration

  • Administer LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity or latency issues.
  • Implement network upgrades, patches, and optimization to support organizational growth.

Database & Application Management

  • Administer databases including backup, tuning, and optimization.
  • Ensure database integrity, performance, and security across multiple applications.
  • Provide technical support for enterprise applications and ERP integrations.

Exchange Server & Messaging

  • Manage Microsoft Exchange servers and Office 365/Hybrid environments.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain email services, user accounts, and group policies.
  • Implement archiving, retention, and compliance policies as per regulatory requirements.

IT Security & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, patch management, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO or other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Lead incident response and implement preventive security measures.

Leadership & Management

  • Lead IT support and infrastructure teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for IT projects.
  • Prepare IT budgets, vendor evaluations, and procurement of IT assets.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for staff on IT security and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Professional certifications like 
    MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, MCSA, ITIL, CISSP, CISM
    will be preferred.
  • 7–10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Should possess strong expertise in:

System Administration
 (Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, Virtualization)

Network Administration
 (LAN/WAN, VPN, Firewalls, Routing & Switching)

Databases
 (SQL/Oracle, backup & recovery, optimization)

Exchange Server/Office 365
 (hybrid environments, policies, migrations)

IT Security
 (firewalls, intrusion detection, patching, compliance)

  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
