Job Title: Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the complete accounting function for small to medium-sized companies, including preparation of management accounts, general ledger entries, and nominal accounts. Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain general ledger and nominal accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., VAT, tax filings).
  • Assist in annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Produce financial reports for management decision-making.
  • Monitor and control budgets, cash flow, and expenditure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a small to medium-sized business.
  • Proven experience with QuickBooks (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, etc.) preferred but not mandatory.
