Position Overview
The Freight Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets in freight forwarding (Air, Sea & Land). This role involves identifying potential clients, pitching services, preparing quotations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities for import/export freight forwarding (Air, Sea, Land, and Customs Clearance).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
- Identify and target new customers through cold calling, networking, and market research.
- Prepare and present competitive quotations, proposals, and service offerings.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the company's growth.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with customers.
- Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth shipment handling.
- Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Provide weekly/monthly sales reports to management.
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and exhibitions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of sales experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping (Air/Sea Freight, Land Transport, and Customs procedures).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and close deals.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Fluency in English (written & spoken); additional languages are a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sales revenue achieved vs. target.
- Number of new clients acquired.
- Client retention rate.
- Volume/TEUs/KGs secured.
- Customer satisfaction and feedback.
