Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gameplay Engineer (QA / Dev) to contribute to both the quality assurance and development of our mobile game projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying and resolving bugs, and contributing directly to gameplay features and improvements. This hybrid role requires both a strong QA mindset and hands-on development skills, ensuring polished, engaging, and high-performing gameplay experiences across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, document, and execute manual and automated test cases for mobile gameplay features across iOS and Android.
  • Identify, log, and track bugs with detailed, actionable reports, and collaborate with developers to resolve them quickly.
  • Contribute to gameplay systems by writing and maintaining clean, efficient, and testable C# code within Unity (or similar engines).
  • Debug, optimize, and refine gameplay mechanics to ensure smooth performance and engaging player experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and artists to integrate assets, animations, and features into gameplay.
  • Ensure compliance with Admob policies, app store submission guidelines, and platform requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews, QA reviews, and sprint planning to align QA and development workflows.
  • Maintain test automation scripts, tools, and frameworks to improve testing efficiency.
  • Provide insights and feedback on game design, balance, and player experience from both a QA and developer perspective.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, best practices, and tools in game QA and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of combined experience in game QA and gameplay programming.
  • Proficient in testing and debugging mobile games on multiple platforms (iOS, Android).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies (manual and automated), tools, and processes.
  • Ability to design, execute, and automate test cases with precision.
  • Experience writing clear and actionable bug reports and working on fixes directly.
  • Familiarity with Admob policies, platform guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in C# and scripting within Unity (or similar game engines).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail with a passion for both playing and building games.
  • Persistence, perseverance, and the ability to balance QA and development tasks.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing, game programming, or Unity development are a plus.
  • Prior experience in the mobile game development industry is highly beneficial.

Nice to Have - Game Development & Design Skills

  • Knowledge of game design principles and mechanics.
  • Practical experience with Unity or Unreal Engine gameplay systems.
  • Understanding of 2D/3D art pipelines, animations, and asset integration.
  • Ability to conceptualize, prototype, and iterate on gameplay features.
  • Familiarity with level design, balancing, and progression systems.
  • Awareness of game monetization and player engagement strategies.
