About the Role

As our 
Data & AI Lead

, you will architect the future of data-driven decision-making across eCommerce and retail media.

This is a strategic and technical leadership role where you'll own our full data ecosystem — from marketplace scraping and reporting pipelines to building 
AI-powered tools

that help FMCG brands optimize performance across Amazon, Noon, Carrefour, and other GCC platforms.

You'll combine deep analytics expertise with innovation in 
automation, machine learning, and AI agent development

, helping us scale insights faster, predict market shifts, and transform data into real-time decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Strategy & Infrastructure

• Build, maintain, and evolve the agency's 
  data warehouse and integration ecosystem
   — covering eCommerce platforms, media APIs, and digital shelf data.
• Establish best-in-class ETL processes, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and real-time visibility.
• Define and own the 
  data governance and taxonomy frameworks
   that align cross-team reporting and client KPIs.

2. AI & Automation Development

• Lead projects that leverage 
  AI and machine learning
   to predict trends, automate insights, and detect anomalies (e.g., OOS alerts, pricing violations, share-of-search shifts).
• Develop and deploy 
  AI agents and chat interfaces
   that allow internal teams or clients to query data conversationally.
• Experiment with 
  Generative AI
   for reporting automation (e.g., auto-generated insights, summaries, and dashboard narratives).
• Identify opportunities for 
  predictive modeling
  , such as demand forecasting, pricing elasticity, and keyword performance prediction.

3. Analytics & Business Insights

• Translate marketplace and media data into actionable strategies for FMCG and CPG clients.
• Design dashboards in Power BI / Looker Studio that visualize visibility, content quality, and conversion performance.
• Create data frameworks that directly inform campaign bidding, assortment planning, and promotional ROI.

4. Product & Tool Leadership

• Lead 
  internal tool development projects
   — from ideation to deployment — for data visualization, shelf tracking, and performance automation.
• Write technical requirements, user flows, and MVP roadmaps for new 
  data or AI-driven tools
  .
• Partner with developers or automation vendors to scale internal systems into SaaS-like agency assets.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

• Build and manage a multidisciplinary team spanning analytics, AI engineering, and automation.
• Work hand-in-hand with account, media, and creative teams to embed AI insights into strategy and execution.
• Represent the data function in client meetings, translating technical outputs into business recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years in 
  data analytics or AI
  , ideally within 
  eCommerce, retail media, or FMCG
   environments.
• Strong command of 
  SQL
  , 
  Python (Pandas, scikit-learn, LangChain, OpenAI API)
  , and 
  API integrations
  (Amazon Ads, Meta, Google, etc.).
• Proven experience in 
  building or leading AI / ML models
  , 
  predictive dashboards
  , or 
  automation workflows
  .
• Advanced skills in BI tools (Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau) and cloud environments (Google Cloud / AWS).
• Excellent communication skills — able to present insights and AI outcomes clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Plus

• Experience building 
  data products or AI assistants
   for eCommerce or marketing intelligence.
• Understanding of 
  digital shelf tracking tools
   (Data Impact, Profitero, Edge) and how AI can enhance them.
• Knowledge of 
  LLMs
  , 
  vector databases
  , and 
  prompt-based data retrieval
   frameworks.
• Experience managing 
  AI-driven dashboards
   or integrating with 
  Generative BI tools
   (e.g., Power BI Copilot).
• Familiarity with GCC eCommerce markets, pricing structures, and omnichannel analytics.
