Role Overview

As an Associate Level Designer, you'll be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and building levels that deliver exciting player experiences. You'll work to ensure that every level balances gameplay, flow, and visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build engaging, balanced, and visually appealing levels for mobile games.
  • Collaborate with game designers to translate core mechanics and features into compelling level experiences.
  • Use internal tools and game engines (e.g., Unity) to prototype and implement levels.
  • Iterate on designs based on play testing feedback, data insights, and team reviews.
  • Ensure level difficulty, pacing, and progression align with the overall game vision.
  • Work closely with artists and programmers to maintain visual consistency and technical feasibility.
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance gameplay variety, narrative depth, and player engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-6 months of experience in level design (preferably in mobile or casual games).
  • Proficiency with Unity or other game engines.
  • Strong sense of spatial design, flow, and player psychology.
  • Ability to prototype and iterate quickly based on feedback.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Passion for gaming and understanding of current market trends.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with scripting (C# or visual scripting tools).
  • Basic knowledge of 2D/3D art and asset optimisation.
  • Understanding of game balancing and analytics.
  • Experience in puzzle, platformer, or simulation game design.
