JOB PURPOSE

To provide technical support for efficient planning, monitoring and analysis of project financial performance to enhance optimal use of financial resources. Job holder will report to the Budget & Programming Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

1. Contribute to the review of budget plans, monitoring and analysis of project financial performance and make recommendations in compliance with WFP financial policies and procedures and best practices to support financial analysis and optimization of resources.2. Provide basic analysis on funds and grants balances and refer to the supervisor discrepancies, to support maximum fund utilization and decision-making process.3. Contribute to pipeline management facilitating efficient monitoring to prevent and address pipeline breaks and maximize operational effectiveness.4. Enter accurate data in the corporate systems within the established deadlines, to enable easy access to information and support planning and decision-making.5. Compile data and provide basic analysis, maintain accurate records and files and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for further reviews, to support accuracy and efficiency of information presented to internal and external stakeholders.6. Maintain and update status of open item (Commitments & pre-commitments) and follow up with relevant Spending Units focal points for timely action as per requirement to ensure timely closure of open items.7. Maintain communication with several individuals regarding project funds management matters and related processes to clarify any discrepancies and optimize use of funds.8. Preparation and dissemination of weekly fund management analysis.9. Support on budget inputs for donor proposals and corporate reports.10.Perform any other task as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area like Finance/Accounting/Budgeting is desirable.Bachelor's in finance / accounting and Budgeting is preferrable.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting and Budgeting
• Has assisted with the preparation of complex financial documents.
• Has supported the performance of budget analyses.
• Has contributed to the collection of pipeline data.

Language:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language (English) in use at the duty station.
