The Project Manager will lead the delivery of the Application Modernization project for a multibillion dollar enterprise, overseeing end-to-end execution across requirements, development, testing, deployment, and support. This role acts as the central point of accountability, ensuring that all milestones defined in the Client SOW are achieved within scope, schedule, and quality expectations. The Project Manager will operate offshore but maintain close engagement with Wipro program leadership and Client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the overall project plan, aligned to Client' milestones and governance framework.
  • Drive delivery through Agile/SAFe ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning.
  • Maintain detailed risk, issue, and dependency logs; ensure timely resolution or escalation.
  • Track progress using metrics such as burn-down/burn-up charts, velocity reports, and milestone completion reports.
  • Prepare and share weekly and monthly status reports with Client.
  • Coordinate across onsite Business Analyst, Solution Architect, and offshore developers/QA/DevOps to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage resource allocation, onboarding, and capacity adjustments to meet PI objectives.
  • Ensure all technical and functional deliverables (designs, ADRs, test plans, release notes, training materials) are reviewed and delivered on time.
  • Support financial tracking, ensuring alignment with T&M billing to Wipro and fixed-capacity commitments to Client.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of IT project management, with at least 5 years leading enterprise-scale application modernization projects.
  • Airline or travel technology domain knowledge preferred, with exposure to PSS or related operational systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage hybrid teams (onsite + offshore) across multiple time zones.
  • Deep familiarity with SAFe and Agile delivery models, with hands-on experience in PI planning and program-level ceremonies.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong background in managing technical deliverables, including system design, DevOps, testing, and cutover activities.
  • Certification in PMP, or PRINCE2, is required.
