We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the specialized field of educational finance. You will work alongside experienced professionals to understand the day-to-day operations of a school accounting department and contribute to meaningful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
  • Help prepare and process monthly payroll for faculty and staff.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budget-to-actual analyses.
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and gathering documentation.
  • Learn and utilize accounting software specific to the education sector
  • Maintain organized and confidential financial records.
  • Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned to support the Office.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in a career in accounting, preferably within the education or non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus).
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
