Job Purpose:
To restore and strengthen livelihoods of flood-affected communities through emergency cash assistance, agricultural recovery, and vocational training, ensuring sustainable economic rehabilitation in line with humanitarian standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Livelihoods Assessment & Planning
- Conduct rapid livelihoods assessments using FAO/WFP tools to identify:
✓ Crop/livestock losses
✓ Damaged productive assets (fishing boats, tools, shops)
✓ Market functionality disruptions - Develop village-level recovery plans prioritizing women/youth/PWDs
2. Emergency Livelihoods Support
Implement multi-modal assistance programs:
✓ Unconditional Cash Grants for immediate needs
✓ Cash-for-Work (CFW) for infrastructure rehabilitation
✓ Voucher-based seed/ distributions
Ensure 60%+ women participation in livelihood committees
3. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track progress against SMART livelihood indicators:
✓ % households restored to pre-flood income levels
✓ # beneficiaries trained in new skills - Document success stories with before-after comparisons
4. Coordination
- Liaise with:
✓ Agriculture Extension Department
✓ Local traders/market associations
✓ UN clusters (FSL, Early Recovery)
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Education: Bachelor's in Agriculture Economics/Rural Development/Business Admin
- Experience:
- 2+ years implementing livelihoods projects (NGO/UN preferred)
- Hands-on experience with:
✓ Cash-based interventions (CBI)
✓ Farmer Field Schools (FFS) approach
✓ VSLA (Village Savings & Loan Associations) - Skills:
- Pashto fluency (mandatory) + working English
Preferred:
- Knowledge of KP-specific crops/livelihoods
- Training in Market-Based Programming (MBP)
Key Competencies:
Ability to design gender-sensitive livelihood strategies
Familiarity with flood-adaptive farming practices
Crisis-responsive planning
