Procurement Officer

1. JOB PURPOSE
Effectively undertake purchase activities, tender and contract evaluation, place orders and monitor delivery to provide the right products and services across all business units & shared services in a timely manner. Negotiate with various suppliers to obtain maximum discount without compromising the quality of all products and services.
2. ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Procurement Cycle: Efficiently manage the complete purchasing life cycle from requisition to delivery. Ensure right products, appropriate vendors, and best prices within short turnaround time to meet business unit and shared services requirements, in compliance with operational policies and processes.
· Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationship from procurement to performance management (supplier scorecard). Assist in prequalification of the vendor. Ensure proper negotiations take place with various suppliers and purchasing decision are critically made to obtain maximum discount without compromising the quality of all products and services.
· Tenders & Proposals: Ensure tenders & proposals meet all relevant specifications and are in line with the requirements of the business units and shared services department. Procure exactly what is required.
· Savings & Compliance: Achieve defined savings on the value of total purchase. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures and communication protocols at all times. Support in internal auditing process.
· Administration: Update all spread sheets, databases and procurement records to produce reports for both the team and for the board when required. Maintain records and department's library of samples, catalogues, price lists and new product information to facilitate easy reference.
Job Specific Information
· Procurement officer will closely work with all business units, share services departments and vendors to ensure, quality and timely deliveries, explore energy saving and environmental friendly options by keeping abreast with state of the art technology, latest products, procurement trends.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)
· Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent.
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
· Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP).
Experience
· 3 years of minimum experience in procurement domain with a group of companies.
· Experience in Automotive industry is preferred.
