Job Title: SEO & GEO Optimisation Expert
Location: Remote

Role Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven SEO & GEO Optimisation Expert with a proven track record of delivering measurable growth in organic traffic and conversions. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical knowledge, creative content insight, and a strong grasp of local and national SEO dynamics. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of SEO and GEO strategies, from technical audits to content optimisation, local SEO, and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
Key Responsibilities:SEO Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute advanced SEO strategies tailored to business goals and audience intent.
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research, competitor benchmarking, and SERP analysis.
- Create and optimise content strategies that align with E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) principles.
- Implement and manage internal linking structures, content silos, and topic clusters.
- Collaborate with content, design, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded across all digital assets.
GEO (Local SEO) Optimisation
- Build and optimise location-specific landing pages for regional targeting across the UK.
- Manage and optimise Google Business Profiles, Bing Places, and Apple Maps listings.
- Ensure NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across all local directories and citations.
- Implement local schema markup and monitor local pack performance.
Technical SEO
- Perform regular technical audits using tools like Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, and Ahrefs.
- Optimise site architecture, crawl budget, and indexation strategies.
- Implement structured data, canonical tags, hreflang, and pagination best practices.
- Collaborate with developers to resolve JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, and mobile usability issues.
Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
- Analyse user behaviour using GA4, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, and session recordings.
- Design and execute A/B and multivariate tests to improve user journeys and conversion funnels.
- Optimise CTAs, forms, and landing pages for lead generation and sales.
- Reduce bounce rates and increase time on site through UX and content enhancements.
Analytics, Reporting & Forecasting
- Set up and manage tracking via Google Tag Manager, GA4, and Meta Pixel.
- Build custom dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs: organic traffic, rankings, CTR, bounce rate, and conversions.
- Provide monthly performance reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Forecast SEO impact on business KPIs and ROI.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
- Deep understanding of Google's algorithm updates, ranking factors, and SEO trends.
- Proven experience in local SEO and multi-location optimisation.
- Advanced knowledge of SEO tools: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Search Console, GA4, and Looker Studio.
- Strong grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics, and CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Shopify, Webflow).
- Experience with CRO tools: Google Optimize, VWO, Optimizely, or similar.
- Familiarity with server-side SEO (e.g. redirects, headers, CDN, caching).
- Experience with international SEO and multilingual site structures (hreflang, geo-targeting).
- Strong copywriting and content strategy skills with a focus on SEO.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in high-competition industries (e.g. automotive, insurance, finance, e-commerce).
- Familiarity with programmatic SEO and automation tools.
- Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and its impact on SEO.
- Experience with schema markup for rich results (FAQ, How-To, Reviews, etc.).
- Knowledge of backlink disavowal and toxic link audits.
- Experience with AI-assisted content generation and optimisation tools.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Google Analytics Certification (GA4)
- Google Ads Search Certification
- HubSpot Inbound Marketing Certification
- BrightLocal or Moz Local SEO Certification
