If you want a calm, predictable design job, this is not it.

Add Hype is building a design department that actually matters. Not a crew that recycles templates and pretends it is creative. We want someone hungry, opinionated, plugged into culture, and ready to take ownership of the entire creative direction.

This is not a senior designer with a fancy title.

This is the person who sets the tone.

What we expect from you (no sugarcoating):

  • You can look at a brand and immediately see what is weak, what is fixable, and what needs to be thrown out.
  • You take the lead naturally. Nobody needs to assign it to you.
  • You guide designers without babysitting them.
  • You understand culture at a deeper level than trend lists and moodboards.
  • You build systems that prevent chaos, instead of giving motivational speeches.
  • You defend your creative decisions with clarity, not ego.
  • And yes, you should be better than everyone on the team. Otherwise, what are you leading?

Your day to day (the real version):

  • Set the creative direction for Add Hype and for every client that trusts us with their brand.
  • Shape a department that runs on clarity, not last minute panic.
  • Mentor designers like a coach, not a critic.
  • Push the work further visually, strategically, culturally.
  • Say no when the work is not good enough, including your own.
  • Keep output consistent, fresh, and culturally relevant instead of producing generic agency content.

Who we are actually looking for:

  • A designer with real taste, not someone who relies on Pinterest to think.
  • Someone who understands how culture, digital behavior, and aesthetics influence each other.
  • A leader who can turn a group of designers into a unified team.
  • Someone who cares about impact, not just how things look.
  • Someone who can speak strategy without losing their creative edge.

Requirements:

  • 6 to 10 plus years of design experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of team leadership.
  • A portfolio that proves you understand culture, not just software.
  • Agency experience is helpful but not required if your work is strong.
