About the Role:
The Head of Academics at The Milestone School is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the academic programs, ensuring the alignment of curriculum and teaching standards with the institution's strategic goals, and fostering an environment of excellence in teaching and learning. The role provides vision, leadership, and management in academic initiatives, teacher development, student academic performance, and curriculum design.
Responsibilities
- Lead the academic vision and direction for the TMS School Network
- Ensure that all academic programs, curriculum, and instructional materials are aligned with the educational philosophy and standards of the school.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the schools curriculum.
- Lead curriculum review and development processes in collaboration with academic teams.
- Monitor the effectiveness of teaching strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide support to schools in instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment methods.
- Implement ongoing professional development programs that enhance teachers' pedagogical skills and academic expertise.
- Develop strategies to enhance student outcomes, including remedial programs and enrichment opportunities.
- Oversee the assessment and evaluation processes for student performance, ensuring that it is fair, accurate, and consistent across all grade levels.
- Implement and review the schools academic standards, and benchmarking processes.
- Stay updated on global educational trends and innovations to ensure that the school maintains cutting-edge teaching methodologies.
- Lead or participate in the introduction of new programs or initiatives aimed at enhancing the schools academic profile.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- A minimum of 13-15 years of experience in educational leadership roles, preferably within a school system.
- Strong experience in curriculum development, teacher training, and academic administration.
- Proven track record of improving academic outcomes in a school setting.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Deep understanding of academic standards, assessment practices, and curriculum trends.
- Knowledge of educational technologies and digital learning tools.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
