Programme Specialist

Position Purpose:

The position is a cross-functional role that blends education policy research, analytical writing, report generation, and grant acquisition. This role supports the center's mission by developing evidence-based education policy recommendations, managing research projects, and securing funding through compelling grant proposals. The strategist will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the success of education initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

• Design, conduct, and manage research studies related to education policy, access, and innovation.
• Conduct and support research focused on faculty development and health education.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights that inform policy and practice.
• Produce policy briefs, case studies, and technical reports for diverse audiences.
• Identify relevant funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic, and academic sources.
• Lead the development and writing of grant proposals, including needs assessments, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with program, finance, and monitoring teams to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive submissions.
• Maintain a grant calendar and coordinate proposal review processes.
• Draft high-quality progress reports, donor reports, and impact summaries aligned with grant requirements.
• Develop content for knowledge dissemination: presentations, op-eds, academic articles, or blogs.
• Monitor project metrics and outcomes to inform strategic decisions and reporting.
• Any other work assigned

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proven experience writing successful grant proposals and policy documents.
• Strong research and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative).
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in research tools (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, R, Excel) and content creation platforms (e.g., Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with donor expectations (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU, Gates Foundation, UNICEF).
• Proven research experience in faculty development and health education.

Qualification:

Bachelors/Masters degree from a reputable HEC recognized institute in Education, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in education research, grant writing or policy analysis.
