Responsibilities

Performing radiology procedures with specified positions of the patient as prescribed by physicians ensuring required safety measures are taken for the patients as well as the equipment. Guide junior colleagues in doing procedure as well proper handling/care of equipment:

Specifically performing the following tasks:

  • performing only those procedures as per departmental standards and processes as mentioned in the respective credentialing document
  • positioning equipment at proper distance and angle from patients body to present clear and undisturbed image
  • selecting proper cassette as per procedures
  • performing diagnostic procedures on patients as prescribed by clinicians observing prescribed safety measures
  • properly log procedures performed
  • determining proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each procedure
  • processing the image(s) and check quality as required
  • performing procedure from different angles as prescribed by physician
  • equipment maintenance by cleaning and making minor adjustments to the same if required and report to supervisor in case of any fault or breakdown
  • assisting in training of on-the-job trainees and new technicians during their orientation.
  • performing portable procedures as and when required by moving the equipment in the relevant patient care areas to perform X-Ray or Ultrasound 
  • ensuring wearing the radiation monitoring devices
  • performing quality checks of Radiology equipment on periodic basis
  • performing duties in shifts 
  • scheduling patients for procedures if required
  • guiding and train junior colleagues/ trainees
  • any other task assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • intermediate Science, B.Sc. preferred 
  • one year Certified Radiography course from a recognized institute
  • 3-4 years related work experience having performed all routine standard procedures, oral contrast procedures and IVU examinations. Fresh candidates having 1-2 year traineeship may be considered based on their technical knowledge
  • good working knowledge of diagnostic procedures and operation of equipment
  • knowledge of judging / evaluating film quality, patient positioning, film developing, supplies handling and general record keeping 
  • good interpersonal skills
  • good communication skills in English & Urdu (both written and verbal)
