We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. The role involves working closely with the existing team to create and analyze financial reports, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. The ideal candidate holds an Accounting degree and is familiar with Microsoft Dynamics GP (GP) accounting software. Responsibilities include accurately recording all day-to-day financial transactions and supporting monthly close activities.

• Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process within GP
• Post invoice batches within the sales module and ensure invoices are deferred correctly in GP
• Prepare AR aging reports, assist in the allowance for doubtful accounts provision, send monthly AR statements, and follow up on customer payments
• Process customer account credits, return memos, cash receipts and apply them against invoices in GP
• Coordinate and prepare customer invoices and reconcile monthly invoice activity for completeness and accuracy
• Coordinate and manage all relevant support relating to customer invoices (contracts, purchase orders, etc.)
• Assist in AR related account reconciliations (e.g., work in progress, AR, deferred revenue)
• Assist with state sales tax compliance and other tax requirements
• Prepare internal monthly financial statements for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting with accuracy
• Bank and account reconciliation preparation and adjustments, analytical review and variance analysis
• Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to the General Ledger
• Update quarterly accruals and commitments
• Prepare month-end journal entries; process accounts payable and code invoices in GP
• Identify inter-company differences and communicate findings to the local accounting team
• Prepare intercompany journals as required
• Generate SmartView reports from GP for use in various reports
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and related monthly reports
• Assist with revenue analysis reports monthly
• Assist with trial balance variance analysis and commentary
• Assist with quarterly disclosure reporting and templates
• Maintain complete records of all financial transactions in accordance with IFRS and timelines
• Implement process improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency
• Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed

• Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English and MS Excel
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Professional Accounting qualification or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting
