We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

  1. Have sound knowledge of the Cognos tool (including older versions).
  2. Possess knowledge of Cognos licensing.
  3. Handle installation and configuration, including server installation and upgrades.
  4. Install fix packs and add-ons.
  5. Automate Cognos tasks.
  6. Maintain the Git repository.
  7. Set up a CI/CD pipeline.
  8. Prepare required Cognos infrastructure reports to facilitate automation.
  9. Set up Git, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools.
  10. Troubleshoot Cognos job issues.
  11. Automate Cognos patch installations.
  12. Set up testing environments for automation scripts.
  13. Discuss and implement Cognos solutions with vendors (e.g., IBM).
  14. Resolve complex tickets and escalated issues from Level 2 support.
  15. Conduct root cause analysis and provide resolutions.
  16. Engage in proactive problem management.
  17. Coordinate with support groups and vendors.
  18. Upgrade existing environments to recommended versions.
  19. Migrate existing packages and configurations to new environments.
  20. Create and configure Cognos projects and configuration files.
  21. Schedule maintenance jobs.
  22. Address audit findings and implement actions.
  23. Create users, manage privileges, and reset passwords.
  24. Implement security standards.
  25. Automate tasks and prepare maintenance scripts.
  26. Collect and analyze performance metrics.
  27. Develop reports and schedule jobs.
  28. Design backup and restore policies in collaboration with application teams.
  29. Create best practice documentation.
  30. Raise problem records with vendors and follow up.
  31. Set up and test disaster recovery procedures.
