Job Description:

Qualification & Experience:

Essential:
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field from HEC recognized University with minimum 01 Year experience in a relevant field.

Desirable:
  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field from HEC recognized University with 02 Years experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, Configure & manage Linux based Clusters using open-source tools.
  • Create and manage supercomputer user accounts and group policies.
  • Provide technical support to scientific users in utilizing HPC facility.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot scientific applications and workload manager on supercomputer.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot cluster nodes (as and when required).
  • Support scientific users in running simulations in serial/parallel environment on supercomputer.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot problems of supercomputer (if any) on regular basis.
  • Resolve day to day problems related to all lab software as well a supercomputer facility.
  • Prepare and update Supercomputer usage manuals regular basis
  • Prepare and update VPN connectivity manuals on regular basis
  • Assist GM Supercomputing in trainings and workshops related to supercomputing facility
  • Backup and restore supercomputer data.
  • Assess the compatibility of the software with the hardware and OS of supercomputer.
  • Obtain the compatible version of software source code and identify dependencies. Resolve all dependencies properly.
  • Any other task assigned by Principal SINES

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Essential:
  • Experience on Linux Operating System
  • Basic knowledge of Bash Scripting
  • Basic Knowledge of C programming
  • Familiarity with open-source tools and packages (Open HPC etc)
  • Knowledge of HPC Clusters/Supercomputers
  • Understanding of open-source repositories (CentOS, RHEL, Rocky etc)
  • Knowledge of DevOps/ Kubernetes Clusters

Desirable:
  • Familiarity with OpenStack
  • Experience in installation of Nvidia Cuda Toolkits and Drivers

Training/Certification:

Desirable:
  • RHCSA/ RHCE

Terms And Conditions:

Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
  • 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
  • NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
  • In process of pursuing a required degree.
  • Medically unfit.
  • Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
  • Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply after seeking NOC from their respective parent department / organizations.
  • Late / incomplete applications will be ignored.
  • Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
