About The Team
The team focuses on enabling persistence storage technologies and advancing cloud-native technology within Careem to shape the future of the platform and scale our efforts significantly.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain Kafka clusters and their ecosystems to ensure resilience, reliability, and scalability of services, enhancing deployment speed and improving products used by millions daily.
- Design, develop, and operate storage clusters on AWS, supporting tooling and creating technical processes to simplify and enable engineering efforts across multiple services. Automate and scale systems while ensuring security and reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response improvements.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in developing, operating, and troubleshooting storage clusters or highly available systems at scale.
- Experience running Kafka on Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Go, Python, Java, Groovy, Scala, Ruby.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation (Infrastructure as Code) and a strong Unix/Linux background, including networking and scripting. Incident response/management experience is a plus.
- Additional skills in automation topics such as monitoring, CI/CD, and security are advantageous.
