Unilever Foods is a 13+ Billion Euro business representing 22% of Unilever's TO, of which Pakistan and Bangladesh are focused markets for Foods business, in new PTAB Business Unit (Pakistan, Türkiye, Arabia, Bangladesh). Unilever Foods business is focussed on 3 attractive global verticals: condiments, cooking aids and mini-meals and Unilever Food Solutions. There is a geographical focus on new PTAB BU to accelerate Foods business.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager for Foods Regulatory Affairs for Pakistan and Bangladesh who will be responsible for providing regulatory expertise, strategies and assessments wrt portfolio regulatory compliance, innovations development and shaping future regulatory space (advocacy) for these markets. The role will be based in Pakistan and will report to PTAB Foods RA Lead based in Türkiye.

JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Manager for Foods Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for managing regulatory compliance and innovation partnering for our Foods portfolio in Pakistan and Bangladesh. This includes ensuring that all products meet country regulatory requirements, supporting product development and innovation, and providing regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams. It also includes representing Unilever in the food trade association in Pakistan, to monitor regulatory changes and influence on key priorities for Foods business. For Bangladesh the role entails to liaise with third party providing the regulatory support.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Maintain products regulatory compliance with all relevant food regulations and standards in Pakistan and Bangladesh, including in packaging, recipe and ingredients, labelling, technical claims.

    • Provides regulatory input and guidance throughout the innovation process to R&D by completing regulatory assessment and formulation review through digital tools for all major projects.

      • Partner with PTAB RA Foods team on relevant R&D projects to increase speed and efficiency at BU level of compliance and innovation activities.

        • If relevant prepare and submit regulatory documentation to Authorities.

          • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and trends and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.

            • Provide support to local functions if relevant in liaising with regulatory authorities and industry associations to stay updated on regulatory developments, as well as on issue management.

              • With the support of PTAB RA Foods Manager, represent Unilever in relevant food trade associations, to monitor regulatory changes and influence on key priorities for Foods business.

                • Provide training and support to internal teams on regulatory requirements and best practices.

                  • Collaborate with NPD (R&D), Legal, External Affairs, and other key functions to define consistent, aligned views and positions.

  • With a relevant degree from an accredited university, you are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong background in food regulatory affairs.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you can work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong knowledge of food regulations and standards in Pakistan.

    • Experience in regulatory affairs, preferably in the food industry.

      • Experience in regulatory interpretation.
