Responsibilities
  • Meet annual targets assigned by the HOD.
  • Work to appropriate targets as set by the Dean/Principal of the University to secure a high-quality teaching and learning environment for students.
  • Teach assigned courses as per faculty workload policy.
  • Continue to develop teaching and learning skills and contribute to the planning of teaching programs.
  • Employ innovative teaching strategies and facilitate experiential learning during lessons.
  • Challenge thinking, foster debate, and develop students' abilities to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and, where appropriate, placements.
  • Set, mark, and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students.
  • Maintain the record of students' academic performance for internal evaluation in the Examinations.
  • Mentor 15 to 20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  • Update data in VLE and other required software as per requirements.
  • Incorporate Islamic and ethical values in teaching. Participate in activities of departmental and university committees as required.
  • Ensure that the teaching content and methods of delivery align with the RIU mission and respond to issues relating to subordinates and student needs.
  • Supervise/randomly check student attendance in classes/labs/practicals.
  • Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using appropriate media.
  • Seek practical applications of research findings.
  • Carry out independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
  • Act as a line manager, supervising the work of others in research teams and projects, or as PhD supervisor when required.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head.
