Position: Commercial Executive

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Commercial Executive with hands-on experience and a solid understanding of the import and customs clearance processes. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Goods Declaration (GD) filing, HS codes, custom rulings, and coordination with customs authorities for timely and compliant clearance of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and file Goods Declarations (GDs) accurately in WeBOC or relevant portals.

Determine and apply correct HS codes as per the product category and customs requirements.

Review and interpret customs rulings, SROs, and import/export policies.

Coordinate with clearing agents and freight forwarders for timely clearance of imports.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including valuation, duties, taxes, and exemptions where applicable.

Maintain and update import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, certificates of origin, and L/Cs.

Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams for any clarification on commercial documentation.

Stay updated on changes in customs laws, tariffs, and import regulations.

Work closely with finance and procurement teams to ensure cost and tax implications are understood and optimized.

Address queries or audits from customs authorities or internal/external auditors.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in import and customs clearance operations.

Strong knowledge of HS Codes, customs processes, and international trade regulations.

Familiarity with WeBOC system, Pakistan Customs Tariff, and SRO management.

Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple import cases simultaneously.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in IT or industrial equipment import will be a plus.

Understanding of LCs, Incoterms, and shipping terms.

Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) for purchase and inventory tracking.

Candidates who have previously worked with a freight forwarder or customs clearing agent will be given preference.
