The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
This is a grant funded contractual position.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- collect and store samples following a strict operating protocol
- perform DNA microbiome sequencing analysis on the samples collected
- administer a preformed questionnaire before the sample collection
- data collection, management and analysis
- oversee study documentation to ensure all regulatory information is accurately collected and filed in an easily accessible format
- complete and send fortnightly/monthly reports to their research supervisors and OARS.
You should have:
- a bachelor's degree in the field of Microbiology or related field of research
- experience in research laboratory is plus point, post qualification
- proficiency in basic laboratory skills
- basic knowledge of the standard operating protocols of collecting and storing samples
- ability to read, write and communicate effectively and clearly in English and Urdu (Sindhi preferred but not required)
- strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks assigned by the faculty
- competency in computer usage with command over Microsoft office, statistical and imaging software
- strong interpersonal skills.
