CA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA, MBA or Masters in Finance or Taxation

Job Objective:
Processing of all applicable taxes and coordinating with tax authorities, tax council and bank branches for tax related activities.

Job Tasks:

  1. Manage Tax Deposits, Deductions & Returns
    • Ensure that Bank deducts and deposits tax in accordance with applicable tax laws.
    • Track Bank advance tax deductions.
    • Prepare withholding tax, advance tax and sales tax/FED statements/returns as required by applicable laws.
    • Prepare Bank annual tax returns in consultation with tax council.
    • Ensure all relevant records of taxation are prepared and maintained.
    • Compute monthly Corporation tax liability.
    • Prepare Reconciliation of all indirect and direct tax ledgers.
  2. Taxation Planning & Implementation
    • Develop and implement tax planning strategies and tax efficient structures.
    • Assess the impact assessments of taxation laws for short (day-to-day) and longer-term business interests of the company.
    • Responsible for quality assurance of the taxation-related procedures /activities.
  3. Liaison with External & Internal Stakeholders
    • Respond to all tax queries from branches and tax authorities.
    • Handle court cases, assessments/audit/appeals at tax forums and tax cash flow management.
    • Engage/assess and manage performance of tax consultants/lawyers.
  4. Compliance
    • Manage corporate tax compliance including review and submission of tax returns.
Job Specification
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal communication and time management skills.
  • Negotiator, self-starter, assertive, team player, highly punctual and able to resolve conflicts without compromising on job objectives.
  • Should have the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of Income Tax Ordinance, 2011, Sales Tax Act, Federal Excise Act & related circulars and its interpretation.
  • Proficient in processing tax deposits, deductions and returns.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite especially Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment.
