Habib University is seeking a dynamic and visionary professional to serve as the Head of Institutional Branding and Communications. This role is critical to advancing the University's reputation, visibility, and strategic influence both locally and globally. The incumbent will lead the development and execution of an integrated branding, marketing, and communications strategy that reflects the University's liberal arts mission and commitment to academic excellence, civic engagement, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and storyteller—someone who understands the evolving demands of digital engagement and brand positioning, and who thrives in creative, fast-paced, and purpose-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead development and implementation of comprehensive institutional branding and communications strategy
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to the President, senior leadership, and Board on messaging, positioning, and reputation management
  • Ensure all communications reflect the University's values, educational philosophy, and civic mission
  • Conduct benchmarking and research on local and international marketing trends to inform strategic planning

Brand Stewardship & Institutional Positioning

  • Cultivate and communicate Habib's distinct identity in liberal arts and sciences education in Pakistan
  • Champion our unique pedagogical model and transdisciplinary approach
  • Safeguard and promote the University brand through consistent messaging, visual identity, and tone
  • Develop compelling brand narratives highlighting our Liberal Core Curriculum, transdisciplinary pedagogy, and international partnerships with Stanford, University of Michigan, and Texas A&M
  • Oversee creative direction and production of all brand assets, including multimedia campaigns and immersive digital content
  • Drive integrated digital content strategy across web, social media, email, and multimedia platforms
  • Engage key audiences: prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, faculty, and academic partners
  • Leverage analytics, SEO, and performance metrics to optimize digital reach and engagement
  • Supervise creation of editorial content including newsletters, reports, donor communications, speeches, and flagship publications
  • Maintain forward-looking approach to digital trends, tools, and technologies

Media Relations & Issues Management

  • Serve as University's chief media spokesperson or designate strategic media representatives
  • Lead strategic media engagements nationally and internationally

Admissions Marketing & Student Recruitment

  • Partner with Admissions and Enrollment teams to design mission-aligned marketing campaigns attracting high-performing and diverse student cohorts
  • Craft compelling narratives around HU's academic excellence, scholarship offerings, and student experience to drive applications and enrollment
  • Design tailored outreach for top schools, local communities, and strategic education partners

Internal Communications & Culture Building

  • Establish cohesive internal communications framework fostering engagement and alignment among faculty, staff, students, and governance bodies
  • Promote narratives that reflect institutional values and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and purpose-driven campus culture

Team Leadership & Budget Oversight

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team spanning creative services, digital media, PR, content, and events
  • Oversee departmental budgets with focus on impact, innovation, and operational efficiency
  • Provide supervision and direction to technical and production teams, ensuring quality and alignment with strategic objectives

Required Job Specifications

Key Qualifications & Experience

✓ Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A liberal arts or humanities background is highly desirable

✓ 15-20 years of progressive leadership in marketing/communications, preferably in higher education, mission-driven organizations, or high-impact institutions

✓ Demonstrated expertise in brand strategy, storytelling, digital marketing, media relations, and crisis communications

✓ Deep understanding of Pakistani media, education sector dynamics, and global academic reputation frameworks
