Job Summary:

The Zonal Sales Manager (ZSM) is responsible for overseeing sales operations, managing the sales team, and driving business growth within an assigned geographic zone. The role involves ensuring sales targets are met, managing distributor relationships, and optimizing market penetration to maximize revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Performance Management:

  • Develop and execute zonal sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within the assigned zone.
  • Monitor sales team performance and provide guidance, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Analyze sales trends and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.

Distributor & Market Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key business partners.
  • Ensure timely order processing, stock availability, and distributor engagement.
  • Conduct market visits to assess competition, consumer trends, and brand visibility.
  • Address distributor concerns and ensure compliance with company sales policies.
  • Oversee payment collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth cash flow and credit management.
  • Implement measures to reduce bad debts and maintain healthy financial operations.

Operational & Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular sales reports and performance insights to the National Sales Manager.
  • Ensure the effective execution of promotional campaigns and trade activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and supply chain teams to align sales operations with business goals.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and competitor analysis reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in business administration, Sales, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the FMCG/tea industry.
  • Proven leadership in managing sales teams and distributor networks.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
