Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the organization's accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, effective maintenance of the ERP system, and robust internal controls. The Accounts Head will play a key role in financial reporting, audits, statutory compliance, and optimizing the use of the ERP for accounting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AR, AP, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Supervise preparation of periodic financial statements, schedules, and reports for internal and statutory use.

2. ERP System Oversight

  • Act as the functional owner of the accounting module(s) in the ERP (e.g., SAGE).
  • Coordinate with IT/ERP team for issue resolution, upgrades, UAT, and process improvements.
  • Ensure proper mapping of financial processes and controls within the ERP system.
  • Support digitization and automation initiatives within the Finance department.

3. Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Implement and monitor internal control procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial
  • transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.) and timely filing of returns.
  • Liaise with auditors (statutory, internal, tax) and facilitate audit planning, execution, and closure.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to build strong technical capabilities and high performance.
  • Set KPIs and monitor team productivity, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Treasury, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensure accurate management reporting, analysis, and reconciliations to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAGE) – implementation or ownership preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and coordination across departments.

Job Requirements:

Experience Required: 6+ years in Accounting and Finance with at least 2 years in a leadership role

Educational Qualification: ACCA, CPA, CMA, MBA (Finance)
