BS in Home Economics (specialized in Food and Nutrition) or M.Sc. (Hons) degree in Human Nutrition. M.Sc. in Home Economics majoring in Nutrition.

The Trainee Dietitian is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and operational duties, including nutritional assessment, reassessment as per department criteria, planning oral and enteral feeding regimes, and supervising patient meal assembly and distribution. They must comply with JCIA / ISO 22000:2005 standards and report food safety issues or other complaints to their supervisor.

• Process nutrition assessments for therapeutic patients within 24 hours of admission, maintaining confidentiality of patient data and departmental systems.
• Ensure compliance with JCIA / ISO 22000:2005 standards and report food safety concerns or other issues.
• Adhere to institutional and departmental conduct and discipline codes.
• Compile dietetic information, monitor tools, and forms according to TIH-HMIS System; update patient nutrition plans and assist food production and service staff.
• Ensure the safe use of computer networks and related systems; report system breakdowns to the supervisor.
• Perform responsibilities in line with clinical nutrition policies and procedures under the guidance of management.
• Provide nutritional counseling to in-patients under supervision.
• Conduct post-meal rounds to address any deficiencies in meal service.
• Calculate and plan enteral nutrition support for therapeutic diets and specialized feeding formulas.
• Inspect patient meal assembly and distribution operations to ensure timely and accurate completion of duties.
• Assess trainee performance monthly and assist in training according to the trainee diet technician module.
• Perform any other related tasks assigned by senior clinical nutrition staff.
