Purpose

Job Description (Café Manager)

Café Manager is responsible for the successful daily operations of the café. He/she hires, trains, manages, and supports shift supervisors and Baristas to ensure that the team provides consistent products, a clean working environment, and the highest level of guest experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrating passion and confidence for the Second Cup Brand
  2. Honour guests by providing quick, friendly, and genuine service
  3. Generates guest satisfaction; responds appropriately to guest concerns.
  4. Manages and motivates shift supervisors and baristas
  5. Develops and implements café policies and procedures
  6. Ensures that shift supervisors and Baristas adhere to all Second Cup Standards and that product quality and guest services are always consistent.
  7. Responsible for hiring, firing, training, and conducting performance reviews
  8. Assists Operations Manager with placing orders for supplies required for the café
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  1. Highly motivated
  2. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  3. Maintain a positive morale and professional attitude at all times
  4. Excellent management and leadership skills
  5. Understanding of food and beverage operations
  6. Must be flexible and able to work days, evenings, and weekends when called upon
  7. Detail-oriented; strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and resolve conflict
  9. Communicates with coworkers & management to solve issues and prove quality & service
  10. Works with baristas, shift supervisors, and management to effectively implement positive change
  11. Ensures all baristas and shift supervisors follow cash handling procedures at all times
  12. Follows business procedures for handling voids and cash handling mistakes
  13. End of shift reconciliation of cash and register records
