We're seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join the Appsgenii team. You will design, build, and maintain the server-side components of our AI-driven healthtech platform—ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across modules such as billing, insurance claims, EMR, and more.

Key Responsibilities

API Design & Development

  • Architect and implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Define and document API contracts with clear versioning and backward-compatibility

Database Modeling & Management

  • Optimize queries, indexing, and sharding strategies for high throughput

Integration & Automation

  • Integrate with third-party systems (insurance provider APIs, billing gateways)
  • Build microservices for prescription OCR, code matching, claim submissions

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure HIPAA/GDPR compliance for protected health information

Testing & CI/CD

  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Configure CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

Performance Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Set up logging, metrics, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root-cause analysis

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional backend development experience

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Node.js (Express, NestJS) and/or Ruby on Rails
  • Strong SQL skills in PostgreSQL or MySQL; familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
  • Familiarity with GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus

Security & Compliance

  • Practical experience implementing OAuth, JWT, TLS, and encryption-at-rest
  • Understanding of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) is a plus

Desired Skills

  • Experience with AI/ML pipelines (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and inference at scale
  • Knowledge of message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) for event-driven architectures
  • Prior work in healthtech or fintech domains

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
  • Excellent communication and documentation practices
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum teams (sprint planning, retrospectives)
  • Proactive attitude and mentoring ability
