We are looking for a Senior or Lead Python Developer to join our core team in building a greenfield application from the ground up. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of backend architecture, hands-on experience with modern Python frameworks like Django or FastAPI, and a strong grasp of AWS cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

You will play a critical role in defining the backend architecture, driving technical decisions, and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services. Experience with OAuth 2.0 and a working knowledge of AI/ML is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of backend systems and APIs using Python (Django or FastAPI).
  • Define and implement the overall backend architecture and system design from scratch.
  • Own the deployment and scaling of backend services on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS).
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0 and other security best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and AI/ML engineers to integrate intelligent features into the application.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Monitor application performance and reliability; troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Mentor junior developers and lead code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python.
  • Strong experience with Django and/or FastAPI frameworks.
  • Proven experience designing and building backend systems and APIs from the ground up.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
  • Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, session management, and secure API design.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with integrating or building AI/ML-powered features (e.g., model serving, AI workflows).
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, architectural thinking, and a proactive mindset.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with microservices architecture and serverless design patterns.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams or managing large-scale backend systems.
