Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Program Manager the Marketing and Product Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the Waste for Value-Project and its products. This role involves conducting market research, managing product development, and creating marketing campaigns and linkages to enhance awareness and drive sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainable practices and a passion for environmental conservation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the Waste for Value Project and its products made from PET Bottles and Single Use Plastic (recycled handicrafts, upcycled goods, shredded plastic).
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape for sustainable products in Pakistan.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to create and refine products that meet market demands.
  • Create engaging marketing content, including brochures, social media posts, website updates and success stories from the communities.
  • Manage marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, and events.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives using KPIs and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community members, local businesses, government agencies and potential buyers.
  • Organize and participate in promotional events, exhibitions, and community outreach programs.
  • Prepare reports on marketing performance and product sales for management review.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketing and product management.
Job Specifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in marketing or product management are a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, product management, or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in the humanitarian or environmental sectors.
  • Proven experience in marketing sustainable products or working on projects with a social impact focus is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media, email marketing, SEO).
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of sustainable practices and environmental issues is a plus. The duties listed above cover most of the tasks that would be performed by the job holder in this position; however, staff may be assigned any other official tasks as and when required.
