About The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Caretaker/Facilities Assistant to oversee and support facilities management services. You will collaborate with the departmental team and assist the site manager to ensure services meet contractual, statutory, and quality standards. Your role is vital in ensuring all facilities-related activities are delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure meeting rooms and communal areas are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
  2. Carry out basic handyman tasks such as assembling furniture, minor repairs, and basic decorating.
  3. Perform light plumbing and cosmetic maintenance across the site.
  4. Manage and liaise with contractors for outsourced services.
  5. Support office moves, refurbishments, and site projects.
  6. Maintain stock and replenish drinks chillers and printer supplies.
  7. Set up rooms for internal meetings and events.
  8. Assist with compliance checks, inspections, and basic testing (e.g., PAT).
  9. Ensure facilities meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  10. Respond to maintenance requests and site emergencies as required.
  11. Approve RAMS and issue permits to contractors.
  12. Support the implementation of the 5S model and continuous improvement initiatives.
  13. Assist with general site upkeep and day-to-day facilities tasks.

About You:

  • ILM Level 3 in Facilities Management (Desirable)
  • IOSH Certificate (Desirable)
  • FLT License (Desirable)
  • Experience using power and hand tools.
  • Background in maintenance, building, or construction.
  • Experience in general repairs, painting, and decorating.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with a proactive mindset.
  • Able to work independently and manage workload without supervision.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights, including occasional ladder or MEWP use.
