The Data Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of the data warehouse. This role includes developing data warehouse and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools and underlying technologies. The individual will also provide enterprise information management expertise with emphasis on data design, access, usage, and stewardship to ensure proper governance, security, and quality of information assets.

Job Specification

Qualification: BCS/MCS/equivalent
Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct work experience
Responsibilities:

  1. Knowledgeable in the design, construction, and management of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
  2. Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques.
  3. Good grounding in development best practice skills, including requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, implementation, documentation, and support.
  4. Must have strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008, including:
    1. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
    2. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
    3. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  5. Experienced in developing Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards, scorecards) using Microsoft SSRS, SSAS, and MDX in a data warehousing environment.
  6. Experience in the design and implementation of ETL processes.
  7. Experience developing and running MDX queries.
  8. Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e., determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples).
  9. Advanced knowledge of OLAP/MOLAP technologies and dimensional modelling, including applicability to various reporting problems.
  10. Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous:
    1. BI Tools including ProClarity, MS Performance Point, and SPSS Clementine
    2. MS Visual Studio
    3. MS SharePoint
    4. Power Pivot
    5. Cubes and Data marts
    6. Data Warehousing methodologies, especially Kimball
    7. Previous experience in consumer and marketing data, analysis, and reporting
