About the role

As an Assistant Manager Datacenter Operations (Facility), you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the passive infrastructure of Telenor Pakistan's datacenters. This includes electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and physical security systems. Your role is crucial in maintaining compliance with international standards and local regulations, while also fostering strong vendor and supplier relationships.

Your Impactful Goals will include:
  • Maintain continuous operation of datacenter passive infrastructure.
  • Ensure full compliance with Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations.
  • Establish and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Optimize vendor management and procurement processes.
Your Typical Day will look like:
  • Supervising data center passive infrastructure including HT/LT systems, transformers, generators, HVAC, fire safety, and security systems.
  • Monitoring physical security setups like CCTV, intrusion detection, and access control systems.
  • Coordinating with OEMs for spare parts availability and technical support.
  • Conducting audits, risk assessments, and ensuring continuous operational improvements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and streamline operations.

What we're looking for

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Work Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in data center operations or maintenance, with exposure to passive infrastructure systems

Certifications: Preferred: CDCP/CDFOM

Functional Skills/Knowledge Areas:
  • Strong knowledge of international standards like TIA 942
  • Experience with electrical, HVAC, Controls system fire safety, and physical security systems
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with audits, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
  • Procurement and vendor management expertise
